Thursday 27th of September - Monday 1st of October 2012
All screwballers will meet at the starting point just outside Dover the evening before we depart for France, the venue will be announced to all teams taking part in the rally. There will be a get together and plenty of parking for your Screwball Chariot and the chance to grab a couple of hours of sleep. In the early hours we leave the meeting point and head to the port of Dover to catch the early morning ferry to Calais. Once we land in France you can head off in convoy or trundle along at you rown pace.
Day 1
Dover (England) - Nancy (France)
Off the early mornig ferry and then 320 miles to Nancy in the Lorraine region of France. Nancy is famous for its art nouveau buildings and 2 world heritage sites.
Day 2
Nancy (France) - Asti (Italy)
420 miles to cover to get to the campsite in Asti for some of Rosa's famous pasta. Most people will know Asti because of its wine but it has had a varied history and the town shows this. Asti is only about 30 miles from Turin whre they filmed the greatest car movie ever "The Italian Job".
Day 3
Asti (Italy) - Liechtenstein
240 Miles through northern Italy and Eastern Switzerland to Liechtenstain. Liechtenstein is a small principality locked between Asturia and Switzerland.
Day 4
Leichtenstein - Dijon (France)
280 Miles through Switzerland and into eastern France to Dijon, the home of Dijon Mustard. Dijon is a lovely old French city with many cafe bars to while away the evening.
Day 5
Dijon (France) - Calais (France)
380 Miles to Calais and the afternoon ferry, plenty of time to nip to Belgium and buy some cheap cigarettes and booze.
